I started ORTYX because I wanted better gear and believed Canada could build a world-class esports peripheral brand of its own. After years of competing, attending LANs, and constantly refining my setup, I spent months testing samples, comparing surfaces, materials, bases, and firmness, then took that curiosity further by visiting factories and learning firsthand how the products I use are actually made.

That process turned into something bigger than just finding the right mousepad. It became a mission to build premium esports gear that real players would actually want to compete with, tested through real gameplay and refined around the details that matter.

I've been competing in VALORANT for over five years, playing against pros and incredibly talented players along the way. When Jerry first reached out to me about creating a mousepad together, it felt like the perfect opportunity to take everything I've learned as a player and turn it into something I could give back to the community.

Over the years, I've tried countless peripherals and pieces of gaming gear, and one of my biggest frustrations has always been accessibility, especially living in Canada. Getting the products I wanted often meant long shipping times, expensive delivery fees, and sometimes paying far more than I should just to get something into my hands.

That's a big part of why I wanted to help create ORTYX. I wanted to use my experience as a competitive player to develop a mousepad that experienced aimers and competitive players would genuinely enjoy using, while also making high-quality gaming gear more accessible to players here in North America.
